For the past ten years, The Plastic Surgery Group has been operating a sophisticated skin care program that allows our specialists to address your personal needs with a medically-compatible treatment regimen. When starting, you are asked to fill out a skin care questionnaire that allows us to identify the nuances of your particular skin type. Once you begin treatment, you are photographed in a VISIA machine that identifies pore size, sun damage, inflammation, pigmentation and wrinkles. With the information gathered from these two steps, we are then able to construct a skin care program that is best suited to your particular needs.

When it comes to more aggressive care and resurfacing, we often turn to chemicals such as TCA, which counteracts textural issues, fine wrinkles and spotty pigmentation.

In some cases, it may be necessary to utilize newer technology, such as “fractional” laser resurfacing. The fractional component simply means that instead of receiving a laser treatment in a centimeter square pattern, the treatment actually provides microscopic laser holes being drilled in approximately 200 areas inside that square centimeter. The damage created by these microscopic “laser holes” helps and benefits the skin to turn over while leaving an intact skin surface. Fractional technology normally has no more than 3-7 days of down time. With fractional laser resurfacing, the skin is modestly tightened and surface irregularities and pigmentation are treated as well and the overall texture improvement.
